Potfest Scotland – Potfest in the City (Glasgow)
Fri 27th, Sat 28th & Sun 29th November 2026
Following on from the success of this years event, I’m pleased to announce that Potfest in the City – Glasgow will return in 2026.
This show is based around the original ethos of Potfest with fair play and inclusion at its core. Just like Potfest in the Pens, spaces will be allocated through a ballot system allowing everyone a fair chance of showing their work.
Because it is anticipated that demand for spaces will be high (just like the Cumbrian events) we are limiting exhibitors to exhibiting spaces at just one of the Scottish shows so if you have taken part in Potfest Scotland – Scone Palace in 2026, I’m afraid you will not be eligible for the ballot for this event.
Held at the WASPS Glasgow site – Briggait, the cities former Fish Market. We’ll once again transform the site (both Halls this year) into a vibrant, three day celebration of all things ceramic and clay.
Because of space limitations, stands are 3m (9’8″) wide x 2m (6’5″) deep and will be laid out with two trestle tables in a “L” shape and one chair. Rather than visitors being limited to just walking down the aisles, the layout will encourage/allow them to step into your exhibiting space.
There are obviously advantages and disadvantages of holding a show close to the centre of a major city. While there should be an abundance of interested visitors, car parking, access and egress at setting up and breaking down times may prove problematic. As such, loading and unloading time slots will be allocated to those that are successful in the ballot. For those that miss their allocated times, there is a public car park, circa 150m from the site and we’ll have a number of helpers to assist with transportation of stock.
At this years event we hope to use both halls and increase the number of exhibitors to just over 100. We’ll hold the usual potters’ social event on Friday after the show along with the vessel swap.
2026 Dates
Setting up day Thursday from 12 noon until 6pm
Open to the public Friday, Saturday & Sunday from 10am until 4:30pm each day
Deadline for receipt of applications is midnight 10th January, with the ballot for spaces being drawn the following week and successful applicants being notified before February 1st.

Applications must be accompanied by five images of your work, ideally including a profile picture of you, either at work or exhibiting.
Image 1 should be the picture you’d like to be your thumbnail on the website. This image should be in landscape with an aspect ratio of 4:3 (take a look at the website to get the idea). The image should be a good representation of your work, with a clear background and of a high enough resolution (minimum 150dpi) to be clear when displayed (large) on the site. Quality images will be considered for use in show publicity material.
Potters’ Competition
The competitions have become a very important part of the shows and a favourite with the public. Because of time limitations this year there won’t be the usual theme but I’ll come up with something else that the public can get involved with. As well as potters’ prizes we award a free space to our chosen winner for the following year.
Pot swap
On Friday evening after the show we have wine and nibbles. At this time, it’s become a bit of a tradition to have a drinking vessel swap between the potters though no one should feel that they have to take part, it’s just a bit of fun. During the day the public will have been voting in the competition but this is when the exhibitors make their choice.
Potters’ Dinner/Social
After the Pot Swap, for those who want to join us, we have a meal together, give out prizes and spend the rest of the evening enjoying each other’s company.
Accommodation
There will be no camping or van camping arranged at this show I’m afraid
