Potfest South East – Glynde Place 2026

Glynde Place is an Elizabethan country house close to the town of Lewes and just a 10-20 minute train journey from both Brighton and Eastbourne whilst being just 45 minutes from London. There is a free shuttle service from the train station in Glynde to the show for visitors.
Building on the first three years, Potfest – Glynde Place is an exciting opportunity to bring Potfest to the South East of the UK and tap into a new audience.
This event is selected but curated to showcase a wide and diverse range of work that I hope will appeal to all tastes and budgets.
Following on from previous years we have decided to push this years dates back a little to hopefully hit on better weather and to coincide with the final weekend of the Brighton Open Houses month, with inclusion in their publicity material….. if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.
As with our other outdoor shows, Potfest – Glynde Place will showcase work from a number of large, open-sided marquees, allowing the work on show to become part of its magnificent surroundings. The marquees will be located on the grounds beside the main house and looking over the Estates Park Land and the South Downs.
Exhibiting spaces at this show will be reduced to 88 this year. There will be the usual Potfest competition, potters’ social event on Friday evening, camping will available on site and may be booked in Spring this usually costs in the region of £35 for the three days, further information to follow.

2026 Dates
- Setting up day Thursday 21st May (no setting up Friday morning)
- Open to the public Friday, Saturday & Sunday 22nd to 24th May
- 10.00am until 4.30pm each day
Deadline for receipt of applications is 24th December, with selection taking place before the end of the year. Successful applicants will be notified in the New Year.
Upon completing this form we will email you to acknowledge safe receipt of your application.
Applications must be accompanied by 5-8 images of your work, ideally including a profile picture of you, either at work or exhibiting.
Image 1 should be the picture you’d like to be your thumbnail on the website. This image should be in landscape with an aspect ratio of 4:3 (take a look at the website to get the idea). The image should be a good representation of your work, with a clear background and of a high enough resolution (minimum 150dpi) to be clear when displayed (large) on the site. Quality images will be considered for use in show publicity material.
Potters’ Competition
The competitions have become a very important part of the shows and a favourite with the public. It’s hoped that all exhibitors will take part although it’s not compulsory. (Title to be decided early in the New Year). As well as potters’ prizes, we award a free space to our chosen winner for the following year.
Pot swap
On Friday evening after the show we have wine and nibbles. At this time, it’s become a bit of a tradition to have a drinking vessel swap between the potters though no one should feel that they have to take part, it’s just a bit of fun. During the day the public will have been voting for their favourite piece in the competition on the lawns but this is when the exhibitors make their choice.
Potters’ Dinner/Social
After the Pot Swap, for those who want to join us, we have a meal together, give out prizes and spend the rest of the evening enjoying each other’s company.
Accommodation
There is rough and ready camping for exhibitors on site at Glynde Place with toilets and basic showering facilities, this is usually £35 (to be confirmed in Spring). There are of course plenty of local B&B’s and a couple of “chain” hotels in Lewes.
