2026 – Taking part in Potfest Suffolk – Haughley Park

I am a potter based in East Yorkshire. I spent 12 years in Zimbabwe teaching and running my own pottery studio making thrown domestic slipware. On returning to the UK I continued making, initially using a porcelain clay to create simple thrown vessel forms.

Over the last few my work has changed direction with a more sculptural and decorative approach based on vessel and bottle shapes and the many different landscapes that have been part of my life over time. The pieces are created from muscle memory of past hand-built forms, repetition of thought and the drawn line.
I use a black clay and a white raku clay, both glazed and unglazed. The forms are made from slabs and decorated using slips applied with brushes, paper resist and sgraffito.
