2026 – Taking part in Potfest in the Pens Penrith – Spring and Potfest Scotland – Scone Palace
After finishing my degree at Sunderland University in 1992, I began what has been a lifelong career as a production potter. I try to make pots which can be used and enjoyed every day, strong, functional pots that are pleasing to look at.
My inspiration comes easily from the natural beauty around me, on the Ards Peninsula, and from my garden. My pots are simple in form, but sometimes they get a little texture, or a decorative detail, or a funny bird, if I think I’m taking it all a bit too seriously!
I get the opportunity to go a bit sculptural occasionally, for an exhibition or competition, and I particularly enjoy making for the outdoors.
