2026- Taking part in Potfest in the Pens Penrith – Spring and Potfest Scotland – Christmas

Amy Benzie is a ceramic maker and creative facilitator based in Aberdeen. Her work is informed by a deep curiosity for the relationship between art, science, and material agency. Rooted in material-led research, her work engages with the alchemy of glaze chemistry and
atmospheric firing, fascinated by the spontaneous transformations that occur within the kiln. Benzie investigates how craft traditions can challenge contemporary narratives, our sense of belonging, and
methods of knowledge sharing.

Her process embraces the spontaneity of woodfiring, highlighting the co-creative role of fire, ash, and environment in shaping the final work. Through experimentation with print techniques on clay, foraged
materials, and participatory engagement, she creates pieces that embody touch and transformation.

For those seeking to slow down, reconnect with their surroundings, and embrace curiosity, Amy Benzie Ceramics offers otherworldly handmade wares alongside tailored creative workshops that inspire playfulness and material discovery. Her functional and sculptural ceramics emerge through playful material exploration, often integrating foraged materials from the Scottish landscape to deepen the connection between object, process, and environment and have been exhibited nationally and internationally.
