2026 – Taking part in Potfest in the Pens – Penrith Autumn
Barbara Chadwick’s love of the natural world was cultivated during her upbringing on the Isle of Wight. A particular passion for bird-life emerged, becoming a driving force behind her creative exploration.
In 1998, Barbara earned qualifications including ‘GMOCF part 1’ and a ‘BTEC in Design & Craft.’ It was during this time that she discovered the irresistible allure of clay as a tactile medium, capturing her imagination.
Barbara’s artistic expression takes flight through meticulously handcrafted birds, each brought to life through the gentle manipulation of clay. Employing a range of techniques such as carving, burnishing, and Raku firing, she weaves a tapestry of craftsmanship that imparts a unique charm to each avian creation.
