2026 – Taking part in Potfest South East – Glynde Place and Potfest South West – Shaftesbury
Bert makes minimal stoneware pottery that hopes to enrich the spaces and routines that we inhabit.
His work looks to slow things down and to draw us into the world of natural, organic aesthetics by bringing subtle details and material voices to the fore of our material environment.
Paired back forms and quiet surfaces are at the heart of Bert’s practice, which center’s around the potters’ wheel and reduction firing processes. Alongside these ideas and processes, Bert draws on Japanese aesthetics and contemporary design sensibilities to curate an offering which remains both functional and sculptural.
