2026 – Taking part in Potfest in the City – Glasgow
My work is made with playful movement and an informal handling of the material, making pots informed by physicality. Through my own in the making process, looking to capture energy in the finished pieces; through observing people and imagining movement. I am inspired by peoples idiosyncratic bodily relationships with the world and include elements of figurative illustration and sculpture in my work. Working informed by traditional slipware practises, I strive to make work with a sense off humour and personality.
I use a simple palette of terracotta clay, white slip and honey or cream glaze. This combination allows the materiality of the clay to really speak, and I strive to keep as much of the texture and character of the material present as possible.
