From my own self- penned songs created from historical material, some stories have evolved as sculptures. These include commentary on the plight of local women from the past, the loss of loved ones, loss of habitat and country traditions. This story-telling element to my work has become a rich vein of inspiration.
I also love sight hounds, a result of my life with my own dearly missed hound. This has sparked a rather personal reflection in my recent work. I love to create recogniseable characteristics within both my sculpture, wall pieces and hand-decorated platters, so my work includes both historical reference, nostalgia, nature and doggie attributes.
