I am Jackie Zehnder bases on the Scottish borders of Dumfries and Galloway. I hand build with stoneware clay using the slabbing technique. I deboss foliage onto the clay surface creating a detailed impression of the plant used. Once bisque fired I apply oxides which redefine the botanical details with almost photographic accuracy. The vessels are finished with a gloss transparent glaze. It’s the exact representation of nature onto a functional piece of pottery that inspires me in my work.

My ceramics range from plant pots and vases to trinket dishes and tea lights. All are for both functional or ornamental use.
