2026 – Taking Part in Potfest South East – Glynde Place

Jess Skelton is a ceramic artist inspired by industrial dereliction and coastal erosion.  Her work is sourced in the vessel, referencing her maritime roots on the south coast and original training in functional ware. Jess embraces inherent material contradictions, disrupting forms and creating assemblages from components that don’t always sit comfortably together. With influences ranging from graffiti to the colours of plastic detritus and toy cars, the work elevates overlooked elements of society, looking beyond shiny facades and reflecting on the precarious resilience of marginalised communities.
