Kim Plimley Ceramics
2026 – Taking part in Potfest in the City – Glasgow
Kim Plimley is a self-taught ceramic artist based in Glasgow, creating wheel-thrown pottery designed to bring beauty and function to everyday life. She discovered clay in 2019 through a local workshop and was quickly drawn to the meditative pace of the wheel and the challenge of designing objects people love to live with.
Her work is rooted in a strong connection to place, shaped by a decade spent living in the Scottish Highlands. Working primarily with stoneware clay and natural glazes inspired by lichen, stone and shifting light, she creates tactile, durable pieces that evoke a sense of place. Her ceramics are made for everyday use – timeless forms that bring warmth and presence to daily rituals.
