Living and working in Runswick Bay, my ceramics are deeply rooted in the Jurassic coastline’s timeless beauty and its ever-changing forms. The ebb and flow of tides, the sculpting power of wind and water, and the interplay of textures and colours in the natural landscape inspire every piece I create.
Clay in its multitude of colours and textures allows me to create pieces as raw and rugged as the cliffs or as fluid and serene as the tide. Every item is a unique expression of my personal connection to the land and sea.
My work explores the contrasts and harmonies between permanence and transformation, reflecting the coastline’s ability to be both grounding and dynamic. Each piece captures a moment in the landscape’s story. My work is sometimes functional, often sculptural but always visually exciting. The processes used mean all my work is as individual as a fingerprint.
