2026 – Taking part in Potfest by the Lake – Compton Verney and Potfest in the Park – Hutton-in-the-Forest
Hand built stoneware pieces which have evolved from architectural fragments. I like the idea of reusing found objects; sprigs and stamps are often made from these. I love hidden detail with layers of both clay and glaze. I am continually experimenting with combinations of clays and surface additions, some of which focus on the heavy grogged texture of the main body whilst other are porcelain. Areas of printed or painted slip, vibrant gold, bright coloured or pastel glazed interiors, dry exterior coloured surfaces and the reflections of hidden exterior detail all combine to create important contrasts.
