2026 – Taking part in Potfest in the Pens – Penrith Spring

I am Stu, originally from Scotland and now based in Staffordshire. I came to pottery during a difficult period with my mental health, and working with clay gave me focus, purpose and a way to reconnect with making. My practice now centres on saggar and pit firing, drawn to processes where fire, smoke and materials play an active role in shaping each piece. I’m motivated by curiosity, experimentation and surfaces that tell the story of how they were made.
