I make a range of functional and decorative thrown porcelain. I like to throw bowls and vases as thin as possible to exploit the translucency and fluidity of the porcelain. After throwing and turning I often alter and decorate the vessels with slips, water-etching, piercing or carving. Some vases are thrown double-sided with a pierced outside wall.
The wave range of bowls and vases is decorated with blue water-etched slip highlighted with gold or silver leaf after glazing. many forms are available as miniatures. I also like to exploit the contrasting effects of glazed and unglazed surfaces. All the work is fired in an electric kiln
