2026 – Taking part in Potfest Scotland – Scone Palace

Virginia predominantly makes functional stoneware pieces for the table and home, from her studio in rural Aberdeenshire. She hand builds using a combination of rolled slabs and slip cast components cast from her own plaster moulds. Using plaster and paper to create texture, followed by coloured slips and stencils to add base layers of decoration, the pieces are then biscuit fired and coated with a transparent glaze. Finally, transfer prints are applied before a third firing.

Virginia studied ceramics in Cardiff in the late 1990’s and has exhibited widely in the UK and beyond.
