Anne Gatherar Ceramics
2026 – Taking part in Potfest Scotland – Scone Palace
I create domestic and sculptural ceramics on the outskirts of Edinburgh. I am inspired by landscapes and the outdoors – sea, rocks, snow, patterns, erosion. I mix my own glazes and love exploring what happens when different chemicals overlap. The ones I develop tend to represent the things I love most about the landscape in Scotland. This is mostly not a conscious thought but a reflection and combination of all the things that interest me.
My ceramics are mainly made on the potters wheel and fired to 1270C in an electric kiln, but I have also built a small wood fired kiln and a currently developing some new work using this.
