2026 – Taking part in Potfest in the Pens – Penrith Autumn
My ceramic work is rooted in the quiet rhythm of the potter’s wheel. I create wheel-thrown bowls and bottles allowing repetition and form to guide the making process. Each piece is shaped with an attention to balance, proportion, and the subtle variations that emerge through touch and movement.
Glaze plays a central role in my practice. I mix and develop all of my own glazes, using colour as a way to translate seasonal shifts into surface. My palette is inspired especially by winter and the fleeting beauty of pink blossoms – soft whites, cool greys/blues, blush tones and layered surfaces that evoke frost, thaw and renewal. These glazes are designed to respond to the forms, pooling and breaking in ways that echo natural change.
My practice is a balance between control and unpredictability. I embrace the way materials respond in the making and firing process, allowing the final surface to hold evidence of time, movement, and change.
