2026 – Taking part in Potfest South West – Shaftesbury

Christine Gittins has lived and worked as a potter in Wales since 1993.

Her pots are all thrown on the wheel in earthenware or porcelain clay and fired in an electric kiln. Some work is fired afterwards in a raku kiln for special effects. She puts form above function and her interest in alternative firing techniques puts her work in an artistic rather than functional category.

At present she enjoys the challenge of making black and white porcelain clay agateware. Her work is represented in public collections in the UK and South Africa and has featured in publications.
