2026 Taking part in Potfest in the City- Glasgow
I have made ceramics for many years. For over 25 years I made reduction fired wheel thrown functional work and ceramics for interiors.
In the last few years I have designed and made individual hand built pieces and very recently, several sculptures.
My Blue Shore work comprises hand built vases, wall pieces, boxes, bottles and vessel forms with washes of cobalt and copper over a matt white glaze sometimes adding a ‘pop’ of yellow. I want to evoke a feeling of the sea shore and coastline so these are imagined seascapes/landscapes rather than illustrating a specific view.
The recent sculptures reflect my interest in the interplay between textured surfaces and gold leaf, applied to allow some of the underlying colour to show, especially with black clay.
