Robyn Cove

Taking part in Potfest Scotland – Scone Palace

Making from her home studio in Dumfries & Galloway Robyn creates hand-built vessels which have characterful forms, rustic and often rugged surfaces. This body of work draws inspiration from the human form and experience, often referencing Korean, Chinese and Japanese pottery.

She uses a variety of materials when creating these, dark and light clays, slips, oxides and glazes. Texture and decoration are applied with an assortment of tools; brushes, stamps, fingers, scrapers and sponges. Layering clay slip, high feldspathic glazes or working with matte surfaces and brushed or stamped oxide decoration.

All Robyn’s work is fired to stoneware temperatures in an oxidised environment.
