2026 – Taking part in Potfest in the Pens – Penrith Spring and Potfest Suffolk – Haughley Park

Using stoneware clay, each figurative piece is hand modelled, with interesting texture created by impressing fabrics and found objects into the clay surface. Coloured underglazes and oxides in the final decoration help to highlight the details and bring out the character of the piece.

I find my inspiration comes from ordinary daily activities and situations, meeting interesting characters or from fantastical myths and fairy tales, with the result that my figures can be either serious and contemplative or light-hearted and whimsical. However, with each sculpture, I endeavour to catch the twinkle in the eye so that the onlooker feels that the character is about to spring into life.
