I make sculptural ceramic pieces that sit somewhere between wall work and object, built up by hand from repeated forms. I’m drawn to surfaces you want to get close to, grids of small blocks, clustered spikes, rings and cavities, patterns that look controlled from a distance but feel raw and uneven up close.
Most of the work starts with a simple module and a lot of time, adding, cutting back, shifting the rhythm until it feels right. I like the tension between order and disruption, clean outlines and messy edges, shine against matte, dark glazes that hold light, and small areas of glaze that pool and move like weather.
These pieces are slow to make and a bit obsessive in the best way. They’re about texture, shadow, and the way a surface changes as you walk past it. I want the work to feel physical and direct, something you notice across the room, then keep looking at because the details don’t stop. I will make smaller pieces to compliment and appeal to all budgets.
