2026- Taking part in Potfest Scotland – Scone Palace and Potfest in the Pens – Penrith Autumn

I have lived and worked in Aberdeen all my life and initially trained as a graphic artist serving the oil industry.

My love of animals and nature soon took president and in 1996 I had the opportunity to go it alone and start my journey as an animal sculptor and artist.

Experimenting with various mediums I found clay to be the perfect solution for my spontaneous sculpting style and have been working in clay for nearly 30 years now
When creating my lifelike animal sculptures I focus on the emotion and character of an animal in order to bring the piece to life. I want viewers to feel my sculptures have an identity and are perhaps a portrait of a living being.

I choose raku as my preferred firing method. Raku gives a beautiful natural patina and crackle glaze that is the perfect compliment to my style.
I have won many awards and accolades over the years and have been shortlisted for Wildlife Artists of the Year several times.

Last year, two of my sculptures featured in The Great Pottery Throwdown as professional examples on raku week.

My work is collected internationally and I am represented by several well know Scottish galleries.
