2026 – Taking part in Potfest in the Pens – Penrith Spring

I like the traditional technique of a Raku firing, but using it in an unconventional way by making fun figurative pieces. Animals and unusual creatures are hand built with sometimes wheel thrown parts added.

Through both the making and firing each piece is truly unique. The chance effects whether it is a copper finish or a crackle continue to inspire me. The unpredictable patterns and the unglazed parts, which take on the black smoke, all play their part in the completion of my work.

The exploration and excitement of where to take the Raku technique next never stops. Having fun and finding humour are equally important to my work process and the finished creatures.
