Peter Bodenham
2026 – Taking part in Potfest by the Lake – Compton Verney
Peter Bodenham’s ceramic practice is rooted in the coastal landscape of West Wales, where he collects ocean plastic, geological samples and found shards as starting points for making in clay. These materials are recycled into small sculptural studies that inform his thrown, extruded and reassembled ceramic vessels and wall works. Through processes of construction, deconstruction and reconstruction, he explores the materiality of clay and glaze, working with native clays alongside dry and glossy surfaces. The work investigates function using a sculptural language. Geological and cultural entropy, tracing narratives of erosion, transformation and renewal within the context of the Anthropocene.
