2026- Taking part in Potfest Scotland – Scone Palace, Potfest by the Lake – Compton Verney and Potfest in the Park – Hutton-in-the-Forest
I attended the University of Creative Arts, Epsom (many moons ago!) but never quite found my place in the usual artistic range. Then 6 years ago – by pure chance – I took a pottery lesson, and everything changed! The following two years were spent travelling and spending time with potters wherever I could, learning techniques from people from different countries and walks of life. Four years ago my dream came true: I became a full-time professional ceramicist.
I specialize in wheel-thrown functional and decorative porcelain. My work can be defined as minimalist, favouring simple yet sophisticated shapes with clean lines and a quiet but powerful presence.
In this collection, I manipulate coloured slips (liquid clay) on the ceramic surface to create pieces with an airy sense of movement and dramatic pops that contrast against the clean lines and minimal shapes. Additionally, I also create smoke-fired work using raw materials foraged from the wild hills around my home. The resulting pieces a fusion of old techniques with modern design, are both serene and dramatic.
Ceramics is my passion – I pour my heart and soul into it. For me, it’s both a meditative process and a constant challenge.
