2025 – Taking part in Potfest in the Pens – Penrith Autumn

I have background in Fine Art and have worked in a variety of disciplines. It has always been important to me to explore the physical qualities of the materials that I am using.  I love to experiment with the nature of clay, how it can be stretched, textured and manipulated.

The experience of being present in the landscape, feeling the weather, noticing changes in light, is the starting point of my work.  I am often drawn to the details, seeking to explore how the marks, textures and tones of the close-up can reflect the larger environment to which they belong.

My work is usually made in response to a particular landscape, its shapes, colours and contours. I do not aim to produce something representational, but hope to evoke a sense of place and of human touch.
