Kitt Bunney & Stephen Wood – Wild Fired
2026- Taking part in Potfest Scotland – Scone Palace
Together we run Wild Fired, a community pottery studio in Edinburgh.
Our approach to pottery shares the same roots – grounded, technique-focused, small-batch, and functional. We are both process-based artists who create lively, ascending forms that honour the material from which they were made. Each piece we create is made to bring a moment of stillness, light, and orientation.
Our work is diverse and ever-evolving.
Kitt’s background in sculpture and graphic design shows up in playful expressive shapes and a minimal but dynamic use of colour; using bold lines, soft gradients, and drawing on the illustrative visuals of natural geometry, constellations and chemistry.
Stephen’s focus is texture and letting the earth predominate. As a pottery teacher for over 10 years, his practice reflects his work – quiet, meditative, thoughtful and resonant. Stephen communicates emotion through lively, hopeful, generous forms – simple, useful pots for people to take into their lives.
Our pots are fired both in oxidation and, occasionally, in a wood kiln.
