2026 – Taking part in Potfest South East – Glynde Place and Potfest Suffolk – Haughley Park

I make contemporary slipware – tactile pots for the table – thrown in soft red clay and dipped and dashed with gesturally applied slip. I weave coloured cane handles onto my platters, bowls and teapots.

I’m deeply inspired by the historical country pots made by the Fremington potters of North Devon since the 17th century. I’m exploring this slipware tradition with a contemporary palette of blue and cream.

The process of throwing is utterly mesmerising. Time stops and you’re there in a moment of flow and fascination with the centrifugal force. That moment is captured in the heat of the kiln and becomes a pot to use in daily life – an artwork and a friend in your kitchen.
